Mike Ligons is the founder of consulting firm Intercollegiate Blockchain & Fintech Society or IBFS.
IBFS specializes in creating custom, turn-key, Blockchain & Fintech solutions. IBFS’s philanthropic program, Smart Cities Case Competition, facilitates an experience for HBCU undergraduate and graduate STEM, FinTech, and smart city planning students to consult with public and private partners on Blockchain and FinTech solutions. Students consider market size, phase implementation, breaking down parts and components, including financing and budgeting, then advocate for that solution by presenting the package to vested stakeholders.
Next up for IBFS is to establish an in-house FinTech firm. A team of advisors trades stocks, commodities, bonds, and mutual funds and develops a custom portfolio matched to an individual’s unique needs - all through FinTech.
IBFS’ principal goal is for the next generation to fully participate in the evolution of blockchain, FinTech, cryptocurrency, and coding… riding the waves of new technology. IBFS recognizes that the disenfranchised African American community, in particular, has been under-represented within the Wall Street economy.
Mike has held a variety of finance roles for various Fortune 500 firms. Mike was born and raised in Pasadena, Anne Arundel County, MD. After a period on Wall Street, Mike returned to Maryland and now calls Baltimore home. He is a proud alumnus of Morgan State University’s Graves School of Business and Management.
